those two songs are rhythmic explorations. they constantly change speed and time signatures. midge has a microtonal melodic structure as well. i didn't try to free myself from the limitations of a digital audio workingstation. i don't like it when people put it that way. i rather used all the options a DAW has to offer, like automating the bpm. the only real limitation to electronic music is the speaker. you don't have to use a regular beatgrid even though i actually work on a tracker, which has a very strong grid-element. i didn't try to "push" what bass music can be. i just had a lot of fun.
